Last week I had a classical music song stuck in my head. I couldn’t remember the name of the song, but remembered my mom playing it in our home growing up. For some reason, my heart really wanted to hear that song again.
I logged onto Spotify’s classical channel hoping I would hear it, but to no avail. I surrendered and told myself I’d hear it when I was supposed to.
Over the days that followed, leading up to today, I began to feel slightly disconnected from myself. I wondered why God felt so far away.
I had a spiritual direction session today, so I planned on bringing this up with my director. She reached out to me minutes before our session telling me that she wanted to start our session differently. She wanted to send something to me to listen to before we met.
Curious, I clicked on the link she sent me and it was THE song I had wanted to hear last week!
Tears poured down my cheeks as once again, God showed up in the most perfect way. Spirit reminded me that I was never disconnected. She was always with me and that song was proof of that.
I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but if you are feeling disconnected, please know that you are ALWAYS surrounded by the God’s deep love for you. Lean into her divine embrace. She’s holding you right now.
